Midifier is a VST plugin for PC/Windows. You can use Midifier with any PC sequencer or audio editor which supports DirectX or VST plugins.
If your host supports DirectX plugins only, you need a VST-DX adapter or wrapper plugin which lets you use VST plugins in DirectX hosts. See more about this issue in the section Using Midifier With....
Also, if you don't own a sequencer or audio editor you can still use Midifier with freely downloadable host programs. See the section Using Midifier With... .
Only the standard sampling rates of 44.1kHz and 48kHz are supported. Let us know if you intend to use Midifier with higher, 88.2kHz and 96kHz rates.
Load some audio material on one track in your sequencer. Then set up Midifier and a MIDI track for output and press the play the button of your sequencer. It's that simple.
Midifier transforms the audio to MIDI notes on-the-fly. Your melody will be played back with the instrument you set up for the MIDI output track.
Depending on what sequencer or audio editor you use, Midifier can be used in two ways:
The record-to-file mode is available with all host programs. You feed your audio material into Midifier and it will be saved to a MIDI file. You can use the simple, built-in synth to audition the result in real-time.
The real-time-MIDI is available in selected sequencers only, such as Cubase SX and R5 and Nuendo 2. These programs allow you to route-back the output of the Midifier to a MIDI track or to a MIDI-out port. You can start playing an audio track, Midifier converts it to MIDI and sends it immediately to you virtual or hardware synth in real-time.
